The Romantic Era
(18th Century - Mid 19th Century)
The Romantic Era, spanning roughly from the late 18th to the mid-19th century, was an artistic, literary, and intellectual movement that emphasized emotion, imagination, and individual subjectivity. It emerged as a reaction against the Enlightenment's emphasis on reason and logic, and also against the dehumanizing effects of the Industrial Revolution.
Many Romantic artists explored the mysterious and darker aspects of human nature, often incorporating themes of the supernatural and Gothic.
All our authentic 'Romantic Era' prints are salvaged directly from original rare and antique books, manuscripts and bibles.
